Well i finally found an alt that i enjoyed playing other than Holy priest. Now the problem with that is that it seems LW is only as good as its gear and in order to keep with up with the gear you must spend countless hours doing nothing but clicking the screen once every minute and it takes an eternity to get anywhere on gathering and crafting. I would just move on without crafting but the problem is that i would not be able to enhace or keep up with good gear like i would need to in order to be an effective tank. Someone said that rb's are to keep crafting caught up with combat lvl but that doesnt work either i could reach 95 5 times before crafting and gathering was all 95. In my inion its the most boring crafting system i have ever seen in the last 25 years and i have played more rpgs than i can count.

The day the wellspring update launched, I created a brand new character. I then started gathering and crafting, and took her from nothing to maxed in all gathers and crafts in six weeks, (and got her to about 47 in combat so I could safely complete the crafting quests and reach Stone Gardens). Admittedly, the max was just 90 back then, but then there were no such thing as plenties in those days either.

Of course, since none of my chars have combat levels even close to max I can't actually do anything with those gathering and crafting levels, but that's another story ....

Maybe the otters can bring out a crown craft item for lazy crafters that either up their crafting all the way, or adds 100% bonus crafting xp to each item crafted, or (and I really hate to say this, because I don't believe in auto anything ) have it where characters can autocraft while offline....bleah.

Do you have suggestions how you would find crafting and gathering more interesting and engaging? (Preferably without eliminating the body and making it hapsnap)

Granted my highest level character is 70 but he's been maxed in gathering for a long time and hasn't really had an issue keeping his crafting level ahead of combat level. If he had used all of his craftable, gathered materials (silkworms, ore, wood, oily fish) to craft with instead of turning them into the village projects he would be farther ahead in crafting. As it is, advancement in 70+ crafting levels is pretty dang slow. Would love to get my Cooking up to the highest level of pies. It's quite possible however that there are more efficient ways to earn crafting XP than just bulk converting raw materials to usable goods.

I tend to do my bulk crafting on my tablet while watching TV so that I don't use up motes and when I'm gathering I'll often read on my Kindle at the same time. Been playing various MMOs for almost 23 years and I can't think of any of them where crafting/gathering wasn't boring to some degree. Can't say that any of them have been exciting. In V&H I don't find it any more boring than killing the same bounties over and over and over again. On my alts I tend only to keep my crafting a few levels ahead of combat just because I usually salvage everything I can and leave the actual crafting of gear to my main.

The problem is that yes you can do that keeping crafting ahead of combat but only and i stress only if you hold yourself back on leveling combat and i love the cobat aspect so i dont want to have to sit there all day clicking one minute buttons if i did that i might as well play one of those auto clicker games

Just something to think about, in the past when we gathered you just had 1 swing every time and no plenties, imagine how much we had to click a node, and a kind of energy/vim system, did cost ya 1 point every swing.

I do not think devs will add some kind of autogather tool, they just want to get rid of botting players.

It would be nice if they added some kind of counter to the crafting other then the one we got now, when sliding that crafting bar to max, sometimes you end up with less stuff then indicated, just let a player add a number they want and just 1 click.

ALL my Villager skills are maxed, here are some tips...

• Save all your Villager potions, EZ buffs etc. Don’t use them until you...
• Gather or buy at least 15-30k Motes of Yorick (NOT from Crown or Charter Shop, buy from players or vendors 80-89g per 1000).
• Gather or buy Gobazollas, at or below your combat level (about 50 silver per minute).
• Have at least 1 Sweet Sea Pie (3-4g each).
• Watch for the next Crafting Party OR buy your own Villager Crystal from the Crown Shop or Darrig Chests.
• Empty your bags and fill them with nothing but raw mats, Motes and the buffs mentioned above (be sure to leave 1 slot empty for your first refines).
• Either join a Crafting Party or use your own Villager Crystal (if using your own Crystal, it's nice to call out in WC and invite others to join you).
• Then use 1 of each available Villager buff, Pie and Gobazolla. These buffs stack!
• To get the most exp from your buffs, begin using Motes to refine as fast as possible.
• For additional experience... sell your extra raw mats/refines to the Charter Vendor and buy/use Skill Books OR donate to Village Projects. I actually moved out of my guild village and moved to open villages, to donate to their projects, for extra exp in Ranching.
• Crafting level-appropriate gear and consumables (as you need them), will also help raise your experience and you may sell extra consumables to the Charter Vendor for Skill Books.

haha 30k lol i have about 125 stacks of motes right now but i still have to spend all that time doing boring gathering or spend a ton of gold to buy all the mats yes it is is better now that they have plenties but then you gotta actually take time to run around like a chicken with your head cut off to even try to find plenties that someone else hasn't already grabbed cuz there are pele who do nothing but farm plenties.

i cant do that im getting rdy for work at 4 am i work 12 hrs a day normally down to 10 hrs at the moment since its downtime so no way im gonna spend the 3 hrs i have to play before bed sitting playing the boring slow clicker game lol

Actually only my main does all the gathering and crafting for all main and alts. This way he is higher leveled off all in crafting . the alts just fight and provide for the gold costs. Maybe only do a bit of gardening and ranching to provide for pelts and ingredients for the potions.

Draks I like you but I don’t see what the real issue is here … other then your upset that LW were nerfed a while back crafting is always a grind bit I made it to 95 everything without much trouble

Drakz does your wife play, or do you have someone else u can trust? Maybe she could gather for you when you are at work? Or if you have the supplies you can always send to other players to gather stuff for you for free,they get experience and you just let them keep the drops that come off the nodes, and you get all the mats, and everyone wins, I've done that for people before.

The problem is that crafting in this game is the most boring thing ive ever seen in any game in 25 yrs and it seems this a game about crafting not heroes it literally takes 3 times longer to lvl your crafting and gathering than it does your combat lvl so you are held back from progressing if you want to be a viable player or you just play without crafting and be mediocre

Drakz does your wife play, or do you have someone else u can trust? Maybe she could gather for you when you are at work? Or if you have the supplies you can always send to other players to gather stuff for you for free,they get experience and you just let them keep the drops that come off the nodes, and you get all the mats, and everyone wins, I've done that for people before.

I know people do that but in my opinion theres no satifaction from it since i didnt do it myself but thats just me and its only my wife and i and she works same time pretty much that i do but appreciate the advice
