Improvements to the Empowered Ladder / Twilight Vale Event Zone:
1) add another daily for maybe 100 tears, of any kind
2) Make ALL bounty bosses repeatable like Prisma in the main map. make them more of a group effort like Sugarsweet’s. Again would help with tears + create more interest in the bounties. Leave them at 1 tear.
3) give us a quest arrow for midsummer fae guiding us to the fae we need - it’s difficult to find them and even doing killing parties takes time. Would help with the big fae quest also.
4) a quest for killing the bounties in the zone (the 7 fairies that are in the zone not the ladder bosses unless the devs include normal ladder)
5) Add rezzies as a reward to a quest for normal ladder.
6) Prisma cosmetics please, we have her as a companion and need her gear + wings.
7) add buffs that increase health, mana, anti stun,
Etc in a travelling vendor near the entrance to the corrupted ladder. Buffs special to the zone.
9) more tear quests

General Improvement (edited after people quoted it):
1) please add the ability to separate hat and back - I want to be a flower with fae wings.
2) multiple hair colours feature. Prisma, who is in twilight vale as a bounty, has multiple hair colours. Please for those of us who love layering hair colours
3) bard class please, based on Lilith. I loved her song ability and want that as a feat!!
4) allow us to do character bios that people can open from selecting us - we write our own..
6) increase the mail attachments, I do gathers for others and it gets hard to do multiple a day to be able to do things. Make it like 50 rather than 25
7)add more quests that give gold - to help the economy
8) please add more outfits for hunters that are not dresses to drops or give us the choice in how it looks for both male presenting and female presenting toons
I admire the positive note, but I think the expectations of the possibilities are quite high.
1) a daily for 100 tears is super OP. it is a similar amount to the killquests for fairies (250 kills each).
2) It is already a horror story 7 chapters to only kill those bosses once, for nearly each you have to wait a while for them to pop. If they were repeatable, it would be even worse.

Someone suggested more rainy environments
https://villagersandheroes.com/forums/threads/more-rainy-environments.5045/#post-66225
I'll continue with suggestions:
  • Lots of rainbows on Maiden and sugarsweet summit
  • Blizzards
  • Misty swamps
  • Sandstorms
  • Thunderstorms
  • Hailstorms
  • Maybe a volcanic zone with volcanic activity
  • Blood rain
  • Snow fall
  • Flower rain from blossoming trees- specially during the event sugarsweet summit-,
  • Maybe once a year have all zones an eclipse that lasts 24 hours, lunar and solar- for example during the event oases of anuk amon on the day of the September equinox, mirages, obelisks, huge half buried statues, cacti, dragon trees, some animal skulls, maybe a lost ancient city carved in the rock, a huge cat sphinx
  • Blood moon during haunted moors event. Spider webbed trees and misty graves. Banshee/ghosts screams, raven/crow sounds, creepy music box, creepy church bell sounds, creepy wind sounds, creepy vines and black and eerie lime glowing roses, jack'o lantern flames, some casual skeletons here and there- hanged or not-,
  • Some huge flowers in Twilight vale event, more butterflies, some rainbows, mushrooms, fireflies, coloured trees, flower bushes, fairy houses hanged from tree branches, day and nigh alternate with glowing mushrooms, flowers and lanterns during night,
There are some gnogpack suggestions in this thread

A common thread for much of this QoL post: enhance quality and quantity of player personalization and elevate the Villager side of the game’s name so it’s viability gets closer to the Hero portion.

Methods for players to achieve these personalizations include:
  1. In game earning as quest items or rewards for specific achievements
  2. purchase with gold, including quite a few super luxurious gold sink items
  3. purchase with EZ currency for seasonal items
  4. other in game acquirable currency such as charter tokens, doubloons, ducats, and medallions
  5. craftable items
  6. crown shop purchases to fuel an untapped revenue source that hopefully pays for a human to design all this stuff going forward.

Character, Not Just for Building Like Dad Says
  1. Additional face options, including quite a few more jovial ones. Or allow for current face types to have a few emotion options to choose from like our poses.
  2. More hairstyles, beards, mustaches, and combinations available to all toons.
  3. Tattoos that function like wardrobe features. Getting our woad on for raids.
  4. Remove the head portion of wings as an option. Would buy beetallion wardrobes just for the wings except I don’t want antennae.
  5. Dye shop to change gear color. Perhaps dyes can be purchased for how expensive they actually should be, also some elements grown in the garden and then refined (cooking xp!), and like oak gall, some found in the wild. Maybe dye capability is an element that could be added to revitalize the production specialist, meaning those are the characters that can dye clothing.
  6. Quivers for hunters, spell component bags for wizards to occupy the shield slot and offer some class specific benefits like shields do.
  7. New Ardent Society options for wardrobe elements.

Crafting for Life!
  1. Add a woodworking station in Trader’s Path so it can be a viable spot for crafting parties.
  2. Add a few market vendors in Marigold Harbor - mote seller at the least
  3. Crystal of Beneficence - zone wide buff usable for safe haven gathering spaces or villages, or rework current crystal to affect whole zone.
  4. Rework Production Specialist as above mentioned dyer, make it also a salvage specialist that gets more mats from gear, can pull motes from Blight gear, or makes components cheaper and has a higher percentage of salvaging components from gear. Or all of the above. Or scrap it all together.
  5. Reforging- an option to spend some amount (gold, mats, both, more for multiple stats) to reroll stats on a piece of gear. Rarity would stay the same. Cost should not be minuscule, but not vault breaking either, and perhaps a time cost gets introduced as well. Maybe this is yet another idea to rework the Production Specialist as their exclusive purview, or allow anyone to reforge.
  6. Jewelry, token, and trinket specialist.
  7. The Chef specialization: chance for double creation of food items or reduced cost to make food items; tarts - 10 minute XP boosts, game pies using eggs and meat and oil and exotics - ability power boost; jerky using larger amounts of meat and exotics - doubles accumulated health regen rates for 10 minutes, trail mix using fruit, exotics, mushrooms, beetles - doubles accumulated mana regen rates for 10 min; Valsora’s Tea - once per reset can be used to replenish one charge of Rested;
  8. Allow potions specialists to attempt to make dual buff drams; each attempt requires 5 or more of two types and is a low chance to be successful for a single dual buff potion. Maybe even very rare legendary potions could be possible with every type mixed in, creating a random offering of three buffs.
new recipes: Yaphet’s Repelling Ointment - reflects 10% of damage for one minute; Vita’s Panacea - reduce duration of a debuff by half; Triple Crash Calf Super Extra Shiny Hoof Polish - 5% extra mounted speed for 5 minutes
  9. Something more celebratory for achieving max rank in crafting - hitting 95 and getting some motes and silver is not indicative of the grind required. Automatic fireworks, that Vale rose that springs adoring people clapping around you, or better yet access to an exclusive crafter outfit for each discipline. Heck even a cart and donkey mount when you get all 4 to 95.
  10. New preparation master recipes: Aleusa’s Shield Blaster - one time use prep that coats a shield in a blasting powder that triggers on first successful parry, made from powder, pitch, extract; Jaco’s Bouncy Goo - 5% dodge bonus for five minutes, made from pitch, resin, and stitchings; Emerenzia’s Goldwork - offers a 5% shielding bonus for 5 minutes, made from embroidery, stitchings and extract
  11. Elder levels for crafting, offering on the simple side villager’s insight buff, to the more complicated new and fun rewards, like the Master Tailor/Carpenter/Smith/Chef cosmetic boots, hat, gloves, armor at separate increasing levels.

Green Thumbs and Green Manure
  1. Sabethe’s Master Gardener: Hit 95 and she elevates you to a peer gardener helping her experiment with growing synergies and plant hybridization. Make a game out of discovering that blueberries thrive planted next to twinleaf and reap double amounts, or that a single Celestia’s Lace in a field of zona cane sugar keeps pests away and reduces grow time, or reference Kave’s inspired post on the subject (divine inspired since he doesn’t garden to save his life).
  2. Village members able to water and/or fertilize garden plants for a variable time reduction, say 30 minutes for a 22 hour plant, 10 for a 9 hour plant, etc. Could also allow for anyone but that would mean six alts would come watering 😂. Have a reasonable limit to number of times it can be watered by outside people, like 3-6 times during a growing cycle.
  3. Fertilizer: tied in to ranching, garden can be fertilized once per day and offer a bonus of 1-5% abundant harvest.
  4. If crown shop miracle water actually provides a consistent income, disregard this; however if it does not, rethink it as a one-time cash shop purchase for separate items for mass watering, mass harvesting, multi-seed planting. Bonus points if these are house garden features that get installed and not another thing in one’s bag. Miracle water should still exist as it will give people a taste of the ease these tools can bring 😏.
  5. Siggara of Lake Kiwa quests - add an element of wild animal wrangling to our nonhuman animal skills. She asks for various wild captures of specimens as she attempts to domesticate everyone. Provides you with ranching xp when turned in. This would be awesome to not be yet another overused “kill x number of mob x” quest, but something with a unique flair, but in the interest of ranch xp that might suffice.
  6. Fertilizer - each animal has a decent chance of also producing usable fertilizer at each daily harvest. This might be applied straight to garden once per day, or could be a component in making a fertilizer blend. Super feed increases chance for fertilizer materials.
  7. Same idea as miracle water, rethink super feed if not a decent income source as is into a one-time purchase mass use device like the trough for which everyone begs, but don’t let them see the happy dances in this case, lazy bums. I actually do not agree with prior automatic feeder ideas because the gnome tech is not nearly advanced enough, and it should still have required player input to function.
  8. Once boars have reached max level, allow for any of the color options to be used cosmetically; return the variety of sheep colors, and add a few new color combos for chickens and pigs, ie. charcoal and white striped chickens (Barred Rocks), pigs with black butts and heads with pink band around their stomachs (Hampshire). I will send pics upon request 🐷🐔 Perhaps also allow for size choice of animals at max level - the itty bitty baby peoples are so cute when first brought in.
  9. Pig eyes: the beady black eyes of the pigs should be changed to how the boar eyes look. Porcine kind in reality have eyes that are so very similar to humans.

The Cataclysm of the Villages
Villages, all those unique cities laid out in such variety...oh wait. All those carbon copies, with mayhap a different sky or an extra statue, get obliterated in The Big Event. Everyone is panicking but Ardent has risen from ashes before! Except some of us think history is doomed to repeat itself yet again and skedaddle to Verda, Maiden, Cook Village, Shiverspine, Goldenvale, Mounds, and Traven. These small communities step up to aid the heroes who stood against The Big Event and lost their homes, providing a new place to rebuild.
  1. Your home is your castle, except it’s a tent to start. A) start with a very basic encampment b) with Dareen’s guidance level it up acquiring various gathered and refined materials. C) basic encampment is not enterable, it’s a tent and a cookpot like Arne’s. D) next level could be a small tent that allows entry but minimal space for decoration. E) level after is a luxury tent like Valuna‘s with more personalization options F) next is a small one room house like seen in Ardent that opens a new instance and is much more customizable. G) the house grows in size. H) the house is now two stories I) subsequent levels add a room and could potentially have quite a few in a veritable Harry Potter Weasley’s tent way. J) provide a crown shop house purchase for anyone to just drop a fully formed house down who rolled their eyes at my house leveling idea.
  2. Housing exteriors & interiors a) crown shop items b) craftable items c) gold purchasable items including some gold sink items d) doubloon items e) event currency items f) raiders brag items g) realm found items h) medallion purchasable items - the newest in Traven luxury for a mere forty courage medallions! Or your very own Pyrrus punching bag for a reasonable 200 carnelian medallions!
  3. Verda expansion - the gnomes are genius inventors. The outpost that is Verda is long overdue to reflect the thriving and cosmopolitan gnomic ingenuity with perhaps Greenhaven steampunk style that doesn’t break the medieval theme too much. A) create another hub for metropolitan activity in the Realms with crafting stations of gnomish design and the first three levels of gather nodes cleverly incorporated so that a crystal of benevolent villager can actually function to aid gathering and crafting at the same time. B) Where are the gnome ladies? Saying they are like dwarves and look the same is cheating because this isn’t Tolkien 🤣. And variety in gnome outfits is highly needed. C) crafting quests using gnomic items. D) the gnome householder shop that allows buying gnomish housing personalization. E) gnome charter vendor with some new items not available in Ardent.

The cataclysm wipes out trade and crafting which must be built from the ground up.
  1. In an effort to forestall the “but my village crafting level”: detach craft speed from village housing and tie it to achieving key craft levels instead as markers of proficiency increase beyond simply some motes and copper, ie level 50, 70, 90 etc bumps up mats crafted per minute.
  2. Allow for city craft station donations to grant residents a buff like wellspring- Villager’s Insight for a day, reduced craft costs for x day(s), higher resale value for x day(s), etc.
  3. Eliminate the difference between village gathered mats and make everything natural mats, making refill stations unnecessary and freeing up village vault space held in reserve for node refills. Either add cornucopia drops as part of all nodes, eliminate them, or couple them into fleetrindas to enhance that rare drop’s value, like xinxen give us swim pots and C.O.G coins.

Miscellany
  1. Turn /sit /roll /lute /kick etc into emote icons for mobile so we can actually see them/ease of use.
  2. Full hotbar equip slots for crown purchase, enabling a set up to be saved for desired purposes, like a raid set up, a gathering set up etc.
  3. Ability to enter a mode without UI for clear screen captures on mobile. Also hides names of items like flowers and ranch companions to declutter the image.
  4. Change mobile death screen pop up so that furious tapping predeath doesn’t lead to unwanted resurrects or respawns. The screen pops up so quickly and takes whole screen, so many times a tap registers to use a rezzie when that is not the desire. If you are also running and die suddenly, most times it reads that as a resurrect choice and it flashes so quickly not allowing for choice.
  5. Allow for rare Ardent Society drops to be account bound. Getting duplicate mounts was supposed to be very unlikely, but I’ve seen it happening enough to create grumbling about a paid feature, and I personally have had three separate duplicate mounts.

I love every idea in this post, except the removal of Village gather nodes... because some players have low-level crafting alts, who need access to all levels of mats and/or sometimes I just want to quickly gather a few items for a recipe, without having to travel around looking for nodes and/or avoiding mobs. 🙂

A few people mentioned rain and addict's ascent so I have this idea that our village should also be able to get new weather systems such as:
1. Light rain with occasional mild thunder and lightning
2. Hard rain with frequent strong thunder and lightning
3. Category 5 Storm with roaring thunder and lightning and near-zero visibility
4. Snowstorms

New trees, rocks, and soil to go along with these:
1. Snow and Shiverspine rocks for snowy weather
2. Dead pine trees with snow
3. Snowy pine trees
4. Aspen trees with fiery orange colors
5. New rock textures? Possibly acquired further in your village's Geology Lab project
6. Those big greenhaven trees

And finally some other new camera effects for the village aside from rain and snow mentioned above:
1. Pine needles
2. Aspen leaves
3. Roses? The very same visuals after saving Summer's Hollow

I'd like to suggest a change to the Rebirth system. Please consider requiring only 1 character from each account to complete the Rebirth process, to unlock all Talent points for all characters on the account. This change would not affect the need to level-up our characters Combat or Villager skills, it would simply remove the need for repeating the Rebirth process on every new character. I think this would encourage players to build more characters and try more classes. Which might increase the time/money players spend in-game, as well as the market for crafting materials, gear and consumables. 🙂

EDIT: It might also encourage those who skip rebirthing, to complete the process on at least 1 character... to unlock the Talent points, for all their characters.

Hello all,
I'm new to the game and I can see some opportunities for QoL improvement.
1. Buyback option - this would help so much, especially while
2. Items are not sorted the way they are in backpack when selling to NPC
3. Make it possible to see the local map of other unlocked zones - to look up bounty exp, etc. Also, it would be nice to see the level of undiscovered zones.
4. Level 30 elder boss in the main questline is tough. Now, it could be a 'me' problem sice I'm not comfortable asking for help on the world chat but the main questline should be soloable IMHO. Cooperation is fine but dependance on others not so much, especially in a spot that is not very popular - too few players to make it viable to just wait for someone to come by and spontaneously group up.
5. Some of the areas have inaccurate maps. I'm in Maiden ATM and the map is all over the place (top left part).
6. Better distinction between defeated and fresh bounty bosses - a simple color code would be nice so you don't have to mouse over every boss to see if you'll get full exp.

So far I'm loving the game. I had some reservations about the no-PvP policy but I can see its benefits. I'm not feeling pressed to rush content and progress as fast as possible, which is a great thing.

Apart from perhaps the level 10 ones, all the elders are intended as group content. It's possible to defeat them solo if you over level them by a big enough margin, but as you progress you are going to find they just get more awkward to solo.

The good news is everyone has been in the same position. Don't worry about it. Just ask "Anyone free to help with Rotburga?" or equivalent and most of the time someone will come pretty much straight away. (Not always, particularly if you play at an "off peak" time, but generally there are lots of players willing to help.) Many will of course be high enough level to pretty much one shot some of the elders, so if you don't one someone to just kill it for you, it's best to say up front that you'd prefer to kill it with a roughly at level group - the only snag being you might have to wait a while longer for a group like that.

This would be great. Maybe a faded red or orange or yellow for the defeated ones.

I'd also like to see something implemented into a village that if someone doesn't plant something within 5 days they are booted from the village, I'm not being mean here, it's just there're people who play the game everyday, that never do anything in the village and to me that's just a waste, I'd rather see it go to someone who genuinely wants to be part of a village
Personally this doesn't bother me that much since I plant every day. But there are player who are purely combat ones or just gather. So to be kicked out from the village just because they don't like to garden is a bit .... They can contribute a lot to the village but helping the community with the quests, elders, raids or by donating gathered mats to projects. Honestly by gardening one doesn't contribute that much to the village. The garden is just for player to plant ingredients for cooking, gardening xp, gold and gathering boosts. One does get kicked out when the house expire after 14 days of being offline tho.

My 4th list of suggestions:

1. Allow mounts in Cirque du Darrig.
2. Change how Surging Howl works:
Initially: Restore 500 Mana for yourself only, and some Will and Clarity boost for 20seconds, for you only as well.
Improved: All of the above for every toon in your party, in its AOE. If it feels too powerful(lol) then at least 1/2 of that effect to every party member in its AOE.

That's all, thank you very much!

Big no from me. I tend to redo my garden very irregularly, only when I feel like it. But I spent most of my time in the village. Looking through vaults, sometimes crafting or gardening, or just staring at my front door while chatting. Imo the 2week no login is no House rule is good enough. It is ridiculous to be kicked from a village because you 'dont use it enough'

Can we get new annimations for when our toon dies? Like we have for postures which we can pick what animation plays when we die.
Have never thought of this before but now I feel we need a 'death mount' which will automatically take us back to where we died. Useful for those players, like myself, who get lost easily. Only available at time of death.

US3 have elder runs every Monday night. Prior to the elder event the Rift is run. Some do enjoy soloing combat but the elders take a team. This guarantees all players can get at least one set of fragments each week and a Rift run. All levels are run except Lv 10.

A qualify of life improvement for our amazing mods!

please give them a warn command!!

I’ve seen some rotten apples on US2 who need the strike system bc they repeatedly troll. b I feel the devs implementing this would prevent people from being repeat offenders for the same thing.

Example:
Someone has three warnings for repeated (minor) behaviour, Devs are informed and can take action if need be. If it’s just minor, a mute could be implemented on world chat. And maybe a XP debuff for being muted? So it drives the point home to behave better?
