Hello, Everyone,

Up until now, it has not been possible for Steam players to play V&H cross-platform. But happily, the Steam policy has changed, and Steam players will now be able to play on mobile.

We will be implementing the new GUI and tech for Steam players to register their accounts on our SAC on the Steam login page, which will enable Steam players to play V&H on mobile devices, if they would like. Your Steam and SAC accounts will be one and the same, meaning you can continue to play via Steam on PC, but can also play your account on mobile.

Implementing the tech for this could take several months, we just can’t say right now, given the other game priorities which also need to be worked on. However, we are eager for our Steam players to at long last be able to play on mobile, so for this reason we will manually hook up any Steam players who wish to get started playing cross-platform now.

If you would like us to manually enable your Steam account for mobile, please do the following:
  • Submit a Customer Support Ticket. (Category: ‘Other.’ Subject heading: just type ‘Steam to Mobile Request.’)
  • In the CS ticket, please supply us with an email address which has never been associated with V&H before. This will be the email we will register your Steam account with, and what you will use to login to your mobile devices with.
    • *Please note: it’s very important that you do not already have an account with the email you supply us with. If our system sees the email is already taken, we will be unable to register your Steam account with it.
  • When we have successfully registered your account, you will hear back from us on the CS ticket.

As it’s more efficient for us to manually hook up players in bulk, we will wait till about twenty-five Steam players have sent in CS tickets. We will manually hook up fifty players a month until the new tech has been implemented.

Cheers, and Happy Gaming! :)

What do we do if we’re on mobile and we want to play the full version of the game; the one that permits players to see friend event notifications, get elder death notices, view the village vault log, name farm animals, customize our house appearance, view the knowledge book, or just simply cancel a buff? How do I get the mobile client that isn’t ‘Villagers and Heroes Lite’?

Excelentes noticias, felicidades. Gracias Mad Otter

Does this also allow steam player to switch to SAC?

Yay! I am so excited about this... Playing the game on the bus! Playing the game in bed! No more choosing between paying 100's of gold to keep houses or just letting them expire if I'm away for more than 2 weeks! Keeping in touch with guildies! Being able to feed my animals on mobile!

This is a step in the right direction but still, only the first step. Initially, V&H was a mobile and PC game, so we can safely assume most existing characters were created on mobile and a stand-alone PC client. Steam was an afterthought, so to speak.
To make most players happy you should have made possible to access mobile and PC characters on Steam first, but now it's getting implemented the other way around.
Still, a most welcome change.

no, the other way around. first there was Facebook on pc. Then it went to SAC. then Steam joined in, and mobile is the newest. but Steam never allowed/enabled crossplatform for their players

I stand corrected: 2011 is PC, 2014 is Steam, 2016 is Mobile. Still, there is full PC to Mobile cross-play so basically allowing PC (SAC) players to cross-play on Steam looks like the next logical step.

If I have an account with the stand alone client, am I able to link that account to my steam account? For reference I want to play the game on my desktop that runs Linux and use Steam proton. I have it through PlayOnLinux, but want to see if its more stable with the steam proton. Is there a way to use my stand alone account on the steam client?

Sadly, it's not possible at this point. All I can say is that we'll have to wait a bit longer (other Steam/cross-platform games allow it so why not V&H?) Guess it's going to take time to figure out on devs' part. Holding my fingers crossed.
