Firstly I have always loved plentifulls. Secondly I think that the mechanic they rely on is wrong/unfair. Currently most of the benefit goes to players who have most time and willingness to run around looking for them. In my opinion the benefit should go evenly to all who gather. I am no stranger to this as I got a full OCD on running after plentifulls .
So my suggestion is simple. Make plentifulls be triggered by gathering. A full cycle of gathering (1min) would have some chance on triggering node to go plentiful. What the chance is would be ascertained thru testing. But maybe 1-5% chance. Also I would make the triggering of the plentiful be relying on a drop that you need to pick to activate it. I think done in this way plentifulls could be introduced to villages also.

I've posted about plentifuls previously. There is nothing wrong with the current semi-random cycle we currently have and the occasional check for the ones you need will usually yield at least 1 plentiful node - the exception being Thriving Isles where it is now nearly impossible to find a plentiful as players have alts camped there and log them on regularly to take all the plentifuls they can find.Firstly I have always loved plentifulls. My main gripe is what happens when the server is rebooted. You get 5% of nodes that are plentiful after reboot and then have to wait 18 hours before any new ones appear. The 5% are all gone shortly after server up. Anyone who can't play when the server is rebooted is pretty much not going to have much chance of finding any plentifuls until the next day. It is now quite common to have server reboots for various reasons, and with the current series of reboots this means that plentifuls are even more scarce and this is why I suggested a change to the way plentifuls work. All that is needed is to have all nodes set at a random interval of between say 0 and 18 hours after server up with the normal cycle then repeating. This gives all players an equal chance of finding a plentiful at any time. I really don't know why the plentiful timing system was changed to the current one - I can't see it has any benefit to the players overall and is certainly not balanced.
