So, question for any Otters that are reading this, can we have this changed so that a guild can own two private villages?

What I'm saying is purely speculation based on how things currently seem to work. For example, if a Guild owns a Private village right now, and then transfer 40 members to another public Village, could they then privatize that new public village? I don't think so, because they already own a Village, and you'll notice that even when a private village becomes public, it will still keep track of which Guild privatized and owned it.

That being said, I don't think anyone has actually even tried a maneuver like this, so who knows.

In regards to your suggestion, is this not exactly what you were arguing against a few posts ago?

With this change, all the guilds who are currently at max, are going to start takeovers of public villages, and possibly private villages that have a small populations. The piece that you're ignoring is how this impacts human behavior. Sure, we don't HAVE to recruit to max, but many will. There is already competition between guilds and this is going to make that worse because the villages are such a limited resource.

Yes, increased guild size is one of the things that has been asked for going back many years. I think they ability for the very few guilds that have 2 or 3 Guilds for alts and friends can now all chat together in one place is a big win. As for taking over villages, are these people not already in villages? If so, they probably have a different guild leader and closed village at this time. All I see this doing is allowing these two or 3 or 4 guilds to be and to be able to chat with each other. I see that as a positive. BUT!!!!!!! at the same time, some of us have been asking for smaller villages or the ability to keep a small guild village closed without needing 40 people. Especially on the servers with a lot less players. Villages where it is extremely hard to find new players who either speak the same language or ones willing to stick with the game. I suppose, and we will have to wait and see, the one big downside I see with this, is an increased separation of players from those in the large guilds who will stay even more within their own little world/chat and those players in no guild or very small guilds/villages with not very active players who depend heavily on world chat. Again, a wait and see situation.

Plea to any Otters that are reading this - please don't.

That’s disrespectful post from a forum moderator to even suggest this! This isn’t the first time you ve done this and kindly be respectful and understand that people have differences and opinions that need to be respected!

This expansionist ideology is what we don’t need period!!!

We don’t need main guilds now telling alts in other guilds/villages to join up now but get to stay in that village! It’s plainly obvious that we know what will happen since one guild will be mass reciting all there alts and get to have them in other villages we worked hard In?

If village cap is 60 then we know that any more new members will need a open village or to be in an existing village to have a house! Good enough for the village but not the guild!
So yes owning two private villages would be best because how will a private village invite if not tied to that guild? Best solution take over one ! Hostile environment indeed.

The poster posted their opinion.

I posted mine (which happens to be the exact opposite).

I respect their opinion, I just happen to hold the opposite view. Stating that I disagree with another view is not in any shape or form disrespectful of the other person's view.

Lowkey this change won't do much to the vast, vast majority of guilds... I'm kinda confused by all the debating going on because like it won't do anything for guilds except for A.) guilds that decide to increase to over 60 active house-keeping members (which isn't exactly super easy to do unless your server is overflowing with new recruits), and B.) guilds that have alt guilds who wanna combine them. The other servers don't have nearly as many people as US3 does. US2, for example, is having a hard time overall trying to keep guilds filled and therefore villages kept private due to the sheer lack of volume on that server currently, so this change will do next to nothing for US2. I'm sure this is the same for some other servers.

*And for pre-self-defense: i'm not invalidating anyone's opinions, all opinions matter, if you're debating stuff it's your time spent not mine, etc.

This is exactly why no one comes to the forum Posts anymore! Over 3k registered In here but funny how same people over and over weighting their opinion on changes! Seriously It’s a mod bully fest that want to stamp everyone out with their opinion only matters and then bring in the same people to agree with them!! People quit because of this abuse of power to push whatever and how darn anyone give an opinion against them? This is why new players quit! Voice can’t be heard to improve!

I don’t expect sympathy since it’s definitely clear the message on something that guild leaders, not one guild leader, that should of been asked period!

These are my thoughts on the guild level-cap raise... it will allow larger guilds to more easily coordinate guild/server events, by allowing them to share guild chat and send guild mail to more members... while smaller guilds may remain as they are. :)

Most large guilds already have alt guilds and villages... they'll probably continue using the same villages... unless... they get so many active members, that they need more alt villages. 😬

However, many guilds are struggling just to maintain 40+ active members, to keep their current villages private. So, only time will tell if village takeovers will become an issue. 🤔

There's also concern about large guilds expanding to take over servers. I think players need to realize, that no one is forced to join a large guild... players are simply drawn to them... because they have friendly, helpful, generous, dedicated members... who donate their time/resources to create daily/weekly guild and server events... fill their guild vault with mats, gear and consumables... and create maxed Villages, for max crafting buffs.

These active/helpful/friendly guilds are an important part of the game and an asset to our community. Guild activities are vital for long-term player retention. So, instead of complaining/worrying about large guilds... we should be emulating them, improving our own guilds and supporting each other, to grow our community. :)🍻:)

I am very much in favor of the increased guild size limit. This offers guilds a number of options including:
1. Merging with another guild, be they currently aligned with another guild right now or not.
2. Merging Main and Alt guilds to centralize chat for all members.
3. Expanding their current guild by recruiting new members.
4. Doing absolutely nothing and remaining at 60 or lower, as they are today.

In another game I play, Runescape, the guild limit is 500. Some players choose to form and be part of smaller guilds where there is a more family-like atmosphere and everyone knows everyone. Personally I favor larger guilds where chat is more active and the events calendar more varied but that is my choice.

The change is offering player choice, if a guild chooses to ignore it and remain at 60 or below, that is their prerogative. If a player chooses to be part of a smaller guild or joins a larger one, that is their choice.

I first would like to say: Yes, the subject of guild cap raise has been being asked about since shortly after guilds were put into the game, and that was in 2011. I know players have been asking for this on the forums since 2012, and in almost all of the livestreams too.

Second: While the Devs do look at what players post and ask for; demanding that the Devs consult with players or guild leaders isn't the way to endear yourself to a game owner or a Dev. Yes, you can always respectfully post your request, but when it gets to the point of making demands, that is crossing the line. The Devs we have are awesome in that they do listen to us. Not many other games can say that. But likewise, you cannot attack someone for disagreeing with you.

Forum mods are first and foremost players and as such each is entitled to posting personal opinions. Berating someone personally for something they post isn't ever allowed. Anyone can post a differing opinion to any post and yes, that is allowed.
Something I've noticed recently however is that some posters have taken to telling others not to post if they disagree, and that in itself isn't allowed.

I have also felt bullied by some of our Mods and I hope that this "bully culture" will change... because I believe it creates a hostile environment, where players are reluctant to share their honest feedback... which is detrimental to our community. 😣

IMHO, we're all here to support the game and community we enjoy and we should treat each other with courtesy. Rude and/or snarky comments are unproductive and inappropriate. I'm sure we can do better. :)🤝:)

They deleted that post!

But I’m not allowed to state a frustrating opinion on why forums are dead due to hostile environment in the forums!

As has been said many times before: If you have a complaint against a forum mod, a mod or another player that you feel isn't being addressed, please contact Customer Support. But calling out anyone here in a public forum isn't the place to make your complaint! And such posts will be edited or might be deleted.

We try to catch everything but sometimes it's not humanly possible. So I went ahead and undeleted your posts since there was other posts quoting them.

AS A PLAYER: what I see here is you are complaining about what you see as you or others being disrespected by poster(s) who have made posts that disagree with what was posted. But aren't you doing what you accuse others of? You are upset that someone dares to disagree with you and you are taking that personally! You shouldn't.

As a MOD:
The posts people make here will always have people/players making comments both in agreement and opposing opinions. That is a given. But in making comments we hope all will keep their comments to the rules, and not personally attack others. Dissenting replies to your posts should not be taken as disrespect as you seem to be feeling. They are just comments. Another thing to remember, we have people from all countries, all cultures from all over the world and what seems normal conversation to some might seen not so normal to others. Maybe try to not take replies as personal?
Please keep that in mind when making posts.
