Important question.
With the Guild cap increase, what happens when combining 2 Guilds that both have private villages? Combining guilds doesn't combine villages? Will both villages remain private Guild villages, both owned by the single larger Guild, or will one of the villages end up public because the Guild that owned it was merged into another?

This guild increase should of been consulted and brought before a number of guild leaders!

This guild increase without village increase is the most disappointing and not correct way to help this game!

Guild chat links would been millions times better!

Very excited for this update, especially the cap raise. As someone who is part of multiple guilds we can finally combine them and chat together in a single channel. For Guilds who would rather not exceed the 60 member village cap, they can simply keep their guilds as is.

Players have been asking for an increase in guild size for years.

Now that Devs are doing what has been asked for many times and over a prolonged period of time, all people do is complain? Really?

No, If we what a guild increase we would like a village increase to accommodate this too!

I don't see why anyone 'should' be consulted by the Devs about anything. Their game, their call. If you want input on what is coming out of test, become a tester and TEST. They changed it by popular request. They don't have to ask any individual, guild leader or not. We're not that important.

Sounds good ty ivar, hope there is another rare mount drop from a big boss. Pumpkin heads one was definitely the best part of the Halloween zone this year even if I wasn’t one of the lucky few I do hope this becomes a thing ;)

about the guild stuff, it might not be everything that you want yet but it’s progress also it doesn’t stop/change the way things can/do run right now it just starts to give more options and that is 100% a good thing.

The issue is that villages are a constrained resource, we can’t just create a new one when we need it. so the larger guilds are going to have to take over multiple villages. IMO there’s going to be some fierce fighting over that on US 3.

Why? If a guild already has a village and an alt village, they can, with a little strategy, retain both. One may indeed technically become public, but with a minimum of 40 members of one guild in the village, the guild can easily ensure that their chosen candidate remains Mayor and hence retain control of the only significant resource, which is the community vault. With relatively minimal effort it should be perfectly possible to keep the village at 90% or higher guild occupancy anyway. Any guild which already has a private guild village and a private alt village must, by definition, already have an absolute minimum of 80 characters in the two guilds, and in practice most likely needs between 90 and 100 to ensure both villages remain private. Keep those same characters in those same villages and in reality nothing significant changes.

Since the new guild size is 120, and villages remaint 60, there is no requirement to have more than two villages to accommodate all the members of the larger guild. No guild, large or small is "going to have to take over multiple villages." Some guild leaders may wish to do so it is true, but that is just personal aggrandizement, not necessity.

The simple reality is that players wanted this. The only significant change is that because it will allow more players in a guild it will allow more players to be in that guild's chat. Nothing else actually changes, except that the guild's second village might have one or two players not in the guild living there - and a little simple thought can prevent even that possibility.

If you listen to the last livestream, they discuss increased village size and why that is not a good idea at this time due to the village changes coming up. It's something they have to look into to see what the best implementation would be for village size changes.

Im not sure why the math is hard on this, I guess we need Math Fish, lol! If a guild is full at 120, where are they going to house their people? Well, two villages, obviously (instead of one). Now that we need two villages per guild, the competition for villages - a resource that we cannot create as we need - is going to only increase from where it is now.

im currently in two guilds, both near max already because I recruit for them actively. So as soon as this change goes live, we are going past 60 and are going to have to find another village to take over. I don’t mean soon, I mean next week! Lol!

I mean, if the otters also completely disconnect villages from guild, which was also suggested here, that removes the problem because then people can live where they will.

And actually, someone just posed a question that I took for granted and just realized that I don't actually know. So I'll ask here: Is it currently possible for one guild to privatize two villages?

As I understand it, no. (I am not a Dev of course, so I may be wrong, but I believe it is not possible.)

What is perfectly possible, as I explained above, is for a large guild to have a private village and have a Mayoral majority in a second.

You are implying that suddenly we now have twice as many people in the game because one of the numbers got changed. That isn't going to happen: The number of people in the game is staying the way it is and so the demand for village housing will remain the same.

That said, if a bunch of guilds decide that they absolutely have to have 120 people in their guilds and 2 private villages, then yes there will be more takeovers of villages. Hopefully most takeovers of this kind will just be merging already existing alliances or main and alt guilds. My first question to this would be "If they didn't need a private village before, why do they need one now?"

There is also the constant headache of dealing with 120 people and 2 private villages at the same time. I know that many guilds/villages already struggle with the 60 and 1 they already have. Why in the world would people want to torture themselves that badly?

And actually, someone just posed a question that I took for granted and just realized that I don't actually know. So I'll ask here: Is it currently possible for one guild to privatize two villages?
Currently, no because there isn't enough people in a guild to do that. After the change? Who knows? If it is a simple matter of having x number of guildies in a village to claim it without any other checks, then it will absolutely be possible. If there is something else, like "a guild can only have 1 village", hardcoded in to keep that from happening, then it will absolutely NOT be possible. It depends on how the otters laid out the code when they first set villages up.

I'm glad for the guild cap increase. It really helps with with guild that already have an alt guild. It was a real pain communicating across said guilds. At the same time I kind of share the sentiment of some of the poster above concerning village. I think this will cause some awkward issue if for example a guild has 61-99 members. Like how will we decide who live in the guild village and who don't. I don't know it just feel weird, like if I just recruit someone then have to say our guild village is currently full, so you might need to stay at public village for now.
