I brainstormed about an event/update idea. . . . . .
The updated theme is called Night of Full Moon
1: A special permanent map is made, and a separate map BGM is set to specifically match the theme of the map. The map comes with a set of luring main quest, so that the player’s wouldn’t want to skip over it and enjoy the fun of progressing through the main quest. And the main line needs to add a new content, that is, pictorial narrative, if that exceeds the allowed budget then the number of the pictures can be appropriately reduced.
This updated map is first and foremost a story line game play, with great amount of story plots and have a story progression bars.
After the story is completed, the map will provide three key characters who have appeared in the story to become the bosses and have its own dungeon. Only one of the three bosses/dungeons can be selected each day.
2: Then there’s a Rune stone system. Rune stone is a very rare enhance item. Players can carry three ordinary rune stones, one special rune stone, and when three ordinary rune stones are a match, it can trigger the additional effects as a set and increase the attribute.
Rune stones are divided into ordinary rune stones (only adds the basic boosts), special rune stones (given special abilities, similar to talents), and the ways to obtain the rune stones are:
Completion of the theme stories on the map of the Night of Full Moon. It will reward a gift pack containing a special rune: named moonlight (the effect is undecided).
Grinding mobs may drop ordinary runes (with low drop rate)
At the same time, some zingaras on the map will have the chance to reborn and become the nightmare. Nightmares stats will be extremely high, and like the zingara, the refresh time will be long. It will be like a world boss, and killing it will drop special runes. When the nightmare appears the server will sent a message to everyone (something like the <name of the boss> has arrived!) After the Nightmare arrives, it has 5-10 minutes invincibility. This allows the players to call out to their friends and gather without fearing some other group will steal it.
In addition, the three-Night of Full Moon boss dungeons will also drop special runes. Players can only do one dungeon a day to obtain one reward box, and the drop rate of the rare rune stone is also very low.
Then the profit part（for the devs）
The shop will add special item: "Blessing of the Moon" it’s a mystery box that will give mysterious props, which can be sockets, resurrection, heal pots, grand prizes would be mounts, special runes.
Another product is "Water of Abria River". After using it, the rune drop rate from the three boss dungeons will greatly increase. Not only that, it also improves the drop rates of the ordinary runes.
The prices of these two commodities are undecided (but these two will become the primary source of profit)
Plus the new fashions, toys, etc.
Then comes the plot, this updated map may be the most significant update, there will be a lot of special game plays, and there will be rare scenes requiring multiple players to complete.
The major plot is as follows
The player wakes up from the coma in the Forest of Moonlight Island, a giant wolf is stares at you hungrily, just as it gets ready to attack you, a grandpa npc appears to rescue you. You need to follow the route of the grandpa to escape from the forest. The grandpa is very fast quick, you don't need to hit the wolf behind, just run, the quest can be completed solo. Then the grandfather will take you to the Moonlight village and will help you set in and rest for a day. Then he explains the history of the villages and the weird events that’s been occurring. As he finishes his stories, the main/daily quests pops up to occupy you for days.
Then the grandfather will tell you that the annual festival of Moonlight Village is about to start. After that, a buff will appear similar to Zorian Marshland. You need to wait for the numbers of days. However, this numbers of days is not same as zorian, but a specific date. Like 6.20, all players need to wait until 6.20, because this festival will be a world-wide event. The opening date is 20th of each month, if you miss this month, you’ll just have to wait for the next month.
when the time is up, the festival starts, the long-awaited players quickly enter the map, then all the players will get the quest to help set up the festival, however!
There will be two players who will trigger the quest of the Chosen One. Unlike the other players, these two lucky people are entrusted by the grandfather. They need to investigate the suspicious phenomena’s that happened during the festival and then finish it to trigger the major plots which will allowed all players to pass this stage. If one of the Chosen One can’t complete the task within set time, the grandfather will be disappointed and will give the task to another person. Of course. This task will be very arduous and rewarding.
The mission of one of the Chosen One is to investigate the Moon Well, and the other is to visit a fatally ill Granma in the villager and get a valuable information. Then they need to exchange the information to each other as well as the npc. Which will trigger the next step. One of the Chosen One needs to take the mysterious potion from the grandmother’s desk, and give it to the other Chosen One, who needs to guard the well until the receives the potion and pour it into the moon well. After completing the quest--
All players will receive a cut scene of the moonlight village, the sky changes dramatically, the blood moon rises, and a big turning point occurs.
The next plot will be triggered, and the grandma will become a werewolf, attacking the player. Players need to hide until the critical plot is triggered. The grandma's attack stat will be extremely high. After the player is killed, he/she will be resurrected in the Moon Well after 30 seconds and get a major debuff effect (moving speed Decrease), (Granny will become the boss in the first dungeon, and players will strategize her later)
When a player is hiding in the church, a small message "cracked floor" will appear on the wooden floor of the church
This is a smart player will call other people to step on together, when the number of people standing on the board reaches a certain level, the board will split and enter the next stage.
Players enter the main quests for the underground cave, wrapping up wounds for each other, rescue those players who have just been hurt by the grandmother, and relieve their major debuffs from the injuries. Then everyone will start investigating the cave. There are many difficulties in the cave. Players would need to find the map and will need donations of 90-level planks from the entire server to repair a broken bridge, kill the powerful blue monsters in the crypt, etc., when exploring the deepest part of the cave, and finally kill the tomb-guard boss hiding in the cave. (This boss will become the boss in the second dungeon, which will be strategized by players later)
Then the players will explore the cemetery. Treasure Seeker: the players will go through the endless treasures in the cemetery (the players will find lots gold and gears) however, the real treasure are the princess’s necklace and her death notes. The first player that finds the necklace and the death note will trigger the cut scene for all the participants. The notes will be shared with everyone and an image of the princess is revealed—then the cute scene is disturbed by the shaking of the necklace. First it was just some smokes, then it slowly gather and forms an outline of person—it is the ghost of the princess!! (The beautiful Princess Lolen was never seen moody, but then no one has ever come out alive from her wrath either)(The princess switches to battle mode after being disturbed)
The princess is the last boss in the story, which is also the last dungeon boss as well.
After that, everyone goes back to the village and finishes the loose ends.
Then the main quests are completed, players receive rewards, get achievements, and all the participants receive gifts.
The following is the brief descriptions of the dungeon system. Entering three different dungeon will require different props, moon mushrooms, moon stones, moon fruit, etc. These props are mob drops or tasks reward. npc give a dungeon ticket for the day one everything is gathered.
It might be hard for the game make all these updates and events, but please open up new functions and increase the caps. Because villager skills cap are too low, many people are already 100% capped in everything. Gears too is also, most people can graduate more than 80%
The noobs leveling from 0 to 95 may have a great period of play-ability
But what about after 95?
After lv95, the villager skill capped, half of the equipment’s capped, and all the shop items should be bought is bought. All its left is open daring chests for mounts and fix the appearances, grind the map and 95 dungeons.
We need something new to motivate the old players again
first of all, i love this idea, and i understand the struggle of end games players to find something more motivating than bounty grinds and lv95 elders.
But i do have some stuff i want to clarify/critique:
"Another product is "Water of Abria River". After using it, the rune drop rate from the three boss dungeons will greatly increase. Not only that, it also improves the drop rates of the ordinary runes." --that might cause ptw issue, a player could spent tons money to runes and get ahead of those ftp players. But if it can maintain a reasonable gaps it might not feel as much, since we have luck pots and its not causing any major issues, so idk
"Like 6.20, all players need to wait until 6.20, because this festival will be a world-wide event. The opening date is 20th of each month, if you miss this month, you’ll just have to wait for the next month."--Once a month? Might be a bit long…
"There will be two players who will trigger the quest of the Chosen One. Unlike the other players, these two lucky people are entrusted by the grandfather. They need to investigate the suspicious phenomena’s that happened during the festival and then finish it to trigger the major plots which will allowed all players to pass this stage."--Kind like lottery style I assume. I would suggest to make it a quest that requires help from other players. Such as obtain a crafted item from another player. Kind like how the trader’s idol quest requires the player to sent it to another player. I think this will increase the player to player interactions. Especially for the end game players.
It might be hard for the game make all these updates and events, but please open up new functions and increase the caps. Because villager skills cap are too low, many people are already 100% capped in everything. Gears too is also, most people can graduate more than 80% --i do agree that this game lacks the end game content, unlike other games the lving is the gaming experience instead of the cap lv gaming experience. It good to attract people. But it needs to give endgame players some fun stuff too. Not just the daily grind. 95 elders are nice, but it’s the only thing, and that’s no a whole lotta options.
