I am not sure I understand the reasoning for Cuddlecakes and Sugarized Fizzler. The burn at Cuddlecakes is continuous once you are hit. A few seconds before the first burn is gone you will be hit again. Cure will sporadically cure only the person targeted even if you have mass cure. At Sugarized Fizzler once you are caramelized you will be hit with another before the first hit expires.
These are no win situations. In a large party there is a slim chance you will have enough cure from a priest to get out of the goo at Sugarized Fizzler but you cannot escape the burn at Cuddlecakes. It is a waste of time to continue. You might as well /die and leave.

Isnt the goal in games to overcome hard situations? Can you have more healing to compensate? Can you team up with a shaman/priest to get them to heal you? Can you increase your defense values?

Fizz is just a case of a lvl appropriate liberty dram or a party that simply kills the adds, as for cuddles I’ve never noticed much damage from his burn but if you are noticing it then hugging healers or even very desperate “wait till he’s low hp before you get close” are always options but that last one is an extreme solution maybe just tweaking your build slightly or using a magic resistance dram will do the trick too.

I haven't tried using liberty dram at Fizz. I'll get a small group to run and check. The burn at Cuddle doesn't kill me but because mass cure doesn't work at Cuddle you don't have time to single cure the players... so the lower level toons will die.Does liberation do anything? I am a healing priest. I thought the goal was to have a zone where all levels could have fun. I am not sure levels lower than 40 are having more fun than frustration. I know many lower level toons don't enjoy the EZ. They haven't had enough time to work through the intricacies of traits and building gear. The scaling system doesn't seem to have any affect on traits other than damage taken or damage done. I'm not sure which.Isnt the goal in games to overcome hard situations? Can you have more healing to compensate? Can you team up with a shaman/priest to get them to heal you? Can you increase your defense values?
Ooooh I did notice that when I used liberation pot all around me were frozen in caramel but I was not. I'm wondering now about the fire as well...

Do I think this zone should be a challenge or hard to play? Absolutely not.
Do I think players lower than Lv 20 would be frustrated with the zone? Absolutely.
Do I think new players would judge the game by the EZ when they first start playing? Absolutely.
Do I think the quest are designed for players lower than Lv 30? Absolutely not. Some items for the quest require Lv 30 crafting skills.
Do I think new players are intimidated and reluctant to ask player for help? Absolutely.
Do I think the EZ's still reflect the original goal?
This will probably be removed but it says exactly what I think.

There is a real problem that the ez is higher level oriented and that low levels get excluded by elitist high level players who want to win and aren’t really having fun just grinding. It’s def not tweety’s gear or stats that’s the issue at hand. I’d like to see a party of level 20-30s make it through an ez ladder run. And if they do how many hours did it take lol

EZs, which still have a portal in Summer's Hollow, are supposed to fun "events". That isn't to say that the content should be super easy, but it should be achievable by all players who want to participate, regardless of their level, build, or gear quality. This has not been the case since the Devs started removing more achievable content and replacing it with challenging content, such as the ladders & the horde (in Moors).Isnt the goal in games to overcome hard situations?
My biggest issue with the burn at Cuddle is that the players with premium speed will often hit him before slower players are within range of the group's healers. This is often compounded by the fact that some players are still dying from Cookie's attacks. Being half dead and getting hit by Cuddle before you even get there is far from "fun": this recently happened to one of my alts & it required using a full heal to keep her alive. The only "trick" I've found with Cuddle is to stay close enough to benefit from any mass heals being used (much like Cookie). When the combat starts in the lake and someone decides to pull Cuddle to the shore, some players fall too far behind and start to die.
With the chocolate barragers at Sugarized Fizz, it does help to be in a "clump" of players, but it isn't foolproof. If a player gets hit by one barrager, it seems that each subsequent barrager will target that player, giving them little choice but to stand there & hope they make it through to the final ladder boss. Yes, liberty drams do help, but again, this is an event zone which is open to players of all levels, some of whom don't even know what a liberty dram is.
Unfortunately, some of those players are making the EZ more difficult & less fun for other players. They don't seem to care if other players in the group miss out on the zings because they can't keep up, or that others may die when they pull Jelly with Salt (or 2 zings with Licor). They just zip around with their premium speed, killing things as fast as they can: if anyone dares to suggest that they either wait for the group or slow kill the zings, some of these players get downright rude & insulting. Thank goodness we still have a few players who are courteous, helpful, and willing to speak up when needed. There is a real problem that the ez is higher level oriented and that low levels get excluded by elitist high level players who want to win and aren’t really having fun just grinding.
I really wish the Devs would explain the purpose of today's EZs, because they clearly aren't serving their original purpose. The very fact that using drams & altering one's build have been mentioned in this thread prove this point.I recall when EZ were first added to the game the original purpose was to offer a friendly zone for all players regardless of class or ablities to meet other players.
Event zones, which typically coincide with holidays, should be fun zones, not challenging ones in my opinion, but sadly this argument was lost over five years ago now.
In essence the sequence went something like this -
Event zones should be fun for everyone
Event zones should be fun for high and low level players
Event zones should be fun for high level players not just low level ones.
To be fun for high level players as well as low level players, there needs to be some challenging content.
Event zones need to have high level content to be fun for high level players
Event zones need to have high level content.
Event zones ARE high level content.

- 'low level players can still run the zone and get stuff because you don't HAVE to participate in the difficult content'
And
- 'adjust the prices for the best/new items to include currency gained from the hard content to be required to make it within the time frame'.
I'm sure you'll be able to fit them into their suitable spot in the list yourself

I enjoy hard content a lot. I like rift and high level raids. EZ is not the place for those things. I think the core issue is scaling though. Based on what the devs have said all levels should be able to do all content in ez if equally geared but that’s not true. There’s no world where a 20 and a 95 are equal in ez zone. I’ve always though an EZ level sort of like dungeoneering would be so fun. Have it work like elder xp, so the more you run EZ the better you are at it. It would shift ez from a burden to the 95s who have been running ez for years to a opportunity for the new players to shine and carry things like the ladder runs.

Was a little confused about what this thread was about at first it. looked like confusion about certain boss mechanics and how to do better with them but it isn’t. it’s about how new player handle EZ’s from the perspective of a high lvl toon.
honesty I can’t say how new players handle EZ’s because I’m not one but I can talk about my first EZ steps when I was one.
My first EZ was oasis I was about a week into playing the game, about lvl 26 and so new I didn’t even know bounties had cool-downs (I honestly thought you could only kill them once for a bounty) so I entered the zone to check it out and treated it like any other zone (killed bounties and completed the quests) killing the green and blue ones were fine although I had no idea soloing the blue ones was making people cross at me I just didn’t know they where so weak and I was only a week into playing
the big ones it was clear people hit them together so timing was a little confusing but they weren’t hard either after completing the quests (including the main one which is really easy in oasis but normally a lot longer in others) realised I had almost no currency and couldn’t buy anything so just moved on deciding to look at EZ’s again when I have progressed my toon a bit more.
by the next EZ I was a bit higher lvl and had completed a few RB’s so decided to passively do it looking at the zone I decided not to do the crafting/gathering parts as it felt like more work and back and forthing than I wanted to do +I hadn’t been doing much crafting yet. So I decided to just do combat quest and see if I could afford a cheap mount by the end. It was great I found my self being the main tank when ever there weren’t any 95’s around and cleaned up got my self not the cheapest but the most expensive mount and tones of healing pots (still pretty noob didn’t know they would disappear after the event lol but they did help me solo a bunch of elders and helped me be the 6th player on the server to get to the then new swamp raid in season 2 which was super hard back then)
everyone is different but I didn’t know a thing and was fine in my early EZ’s, even expected a lot less to begin with because I respect that the more you play the stronger you get. So I don’t really know and I doubt I will ever know what it’s like to struggle in an EZ.

One of the first suggestions I would make is to remove the tag: "You've claimed credit for this bounty" and "Someone else has claimed credit for this bounty" from the bounty names.
Those are holdovers from years ago when we actually did have to claim credit to get the credit. They no longer apply but new players THINK they apply, so tiny toons who THINK they are a powerful lvl 95 don't realize they are still wearing low lvl gear. And they die usually after running all over trying to shake the boss intent on killing them. And in doing the dragging, they anger others who had the boss dragged to them.

I did an EZ boss run on my level 67 alt (MM hunter) this morning, with a fairly good-sized group. Unfortunately, we didn't have any healers in the group until someone (I think was a healer) joined our group at Licorhoof. I'd forgotten that this alt had run out of health potions on her last ladder run, and I didn't have time to make any for this boss run. So, her survival depended on a healing buff from a trinket, a bottomless half-heal, 1 regular half-heal, and 2 full-heals. Needless to say, the trinket got quite a workout, lol.
When we started at Clyde & Bonnie, we had healers. One healer came with us for the run, but he never moved (asleep or AFK?) once we started killing Salt. Rather than mess up the timers, we forged ahead. (So, please don't say that we shouldn't have done the run without a healer!) At Salt, I used the bottomless half-heal. For the next 2 bosses, I got by with just the trinket, but on Cookie, I had to use my regular half-heal. A half-heal wouldn't have been enough at Cuddle though. Even with the trinket, my alt's health dropped below 175, forcing me to use a full-heal: I had to continue using the trinket to counter the on-going damage.
Until this morning's run, I had no idea that Cuddle is so much more lethal than Salt or even that crumb, Cookie. The flames make the lengthy duration of Cuddle's damage pretty obvious, but the severity of that damage isn't as clear until there aren't any healers around (or players are out of their range). The duration & severity of Cuddle's damage really are excessive for the "regular" part of an event zone: one or the other should be reduced, at least a bit.
