This may have already been suggested, so don't hate if it has. But gathering and crafting can be a bit of a waste on a 95 lvl toon once you have reached cap, experience wise. What I mean is, I can grind out mobs all day long with (with enough bounties). While doing so I earn quite a bit of elder level experience. Secondly in the tree of "Elder Levels" as you progress forward you get more bonuses as you do. However only one of these seems to be situated towards a "villager" style character. Based on the fact that this is "Villagers and Heroes", it wouldn't be a bad thing to help get them leveled up a bit more. In the end with the current system it almost benefits me more, to send all my materials to a different character and let them level up their crafting skills, then send refined materials back to my main character for crafting. Seems like a waste imho.
With that being said I guess my suggestion would be two fold:
1) Firstly, that when all skills are capped, that crafting/gathering still grants a smidge of real experience or elder experience. Not a ton mind you, because that would be weird, but as you gather / craft it might be good to be earning at least a little bit of something. I totally understand, that the real "earnings" in that sense are the actual THINGS you are gathering or crafting.
2) Secondly, there is a tier in elder level experience that grants 2% villager experience (the only villager based elder tier). I think there should be a second bonus attached to this tier (as they are currently a 5 tier rotation , and adding a 6th would mess it up), for villager speed 2%. Although this incentive is low, it would mean at roughly elder level 30 that you would attain approximately 6% crafting / gathering speed. Nothing to write home about, but still a good incentive.
I think this would essentially spur a bit more of a spark towards high level gathering and crafting more. There is not always an abundance of crafted gear, and many of the top guilds craft and gather within themselves as a group. But maybe this would help spur more sales in the auction house, and more gatherers. It also might make "production" spec way more viable.
Of course the amount of experience gained would have to be monitored so you couldn't simply craft your way to elder level 90, but that small hint of XP might be worth it so that people have more incentive to slow down their grind and gather and craft, even once they have maxed out their skills. It also might help more of the specific "Villagers Only" people get a bit higher, and again, have more incentive to stay on.
Thanks for your time!
