I really enjoyed (and still do) the Blighted Isles, it gave a lot of content for high end players, incorporated many of the community's wishes and ideas. Now that it has been out for a while I wanted to share a few ideas to further enhance its features.

1) At max reputation rank allow players to unlock in Blight Bay a new NPC called the Blight Broker, for 1500 Blight medallions. The Blight Broker exchanges your specific medallions for 1:1 ratio (example, it can turn 200 shadenor medallions into 200 bloodstone ones). This should make farming/crafting/unlocking certain items a tad bit easier.

2) Add a gnogpack that sports the same look for each Blight, but different color. This could be unlocked at the rank before final. Colours could be: Blood Blight -> red, Death Blight -> green, Ash Blight -> white, Shade Blight -> purple. If you unlock it all, you can buy a special black colored one with different trim colours based on the blights in Blight Bay (similar to how the secret zombie mount unlock works). Price could be 3000 medallion each. This will revitalize the content for a bit, and honestly, who doesn't want more skins in their wardrobe for a bit of work?

3) Blight invasion. After finishing the main storyline, players can talk to Sapphira to part take in the Blight Invasion event. Each week a different zone gets "blighted" and each blight happens once a month (example: week 1 Traven Isles Blood blight, week 2 Pyrron upperkeep Death Blight, etc.). The maps would recieve the corresponding Blight debuff, and the bounties would drop medallions according to their blight. There would be a daily quest to deal with all bounties, rewarding a random epic piece of gear (each week different type). Also this would have no effect on the real zones, these should exist separately from them. This can offer a new way to earn gear, motes and medallions (and farm elder ranks).

4) Make all recipes that are soulbound account bound. I think crafter alts deserve to use those recipes, and this could yet again, revitalize content as people would start farming them for their alts.

5) Make the Blighted runes work everywhere. People worked hard to earn them, why limit them to so few zones. I don't think they would break the balance anywhere. Or alternatively make them enchantments instead of runes (save for weapon runes).

6) Rebirth no longer resets reputation. To me the current system is like taking away stuff you unlocked with hard work. I don't think it should be this way.

7) Bloodstone, Quietus, Cinder Strand and Shadenor bounties now drop 2 medallions per kill instead of 1. Eases the medallion grind a bit more.

8) Add a unique weapon skin for each class (one color variant per blight), available from 250+ reputation for 2000 medallions. Upon unlocking all 4 base variants, a new one should be up for purchase sporting either a new colour or the combination of the previous colours (maybe a weapon glow that keeps changing its colour?). Idea based on Helos' post

+1) Add Blight themed furniture packs. This could be something once the housing update hits the live servers. These should be high end rewards just like mounts, available at the highest reputation levels and yet againcan revitalize the content.

He can also exchange your motes for other kind of motes at a 1:1 ratio and +1 medallion of the target type (example: turning 100 ash motes into 100 shade motes will cost 100 ash motes + 100 shadenor medallions). This should make farming/crafting/unlocking certain items a tad bit easier.

2) Add a gnogpack that sports the same look for each Blight, but different color. This could be unlocked at the rank before final. Colours could be: Bloodstone -> red, Quietus -> green, Cinder Strand -> grey, Shadenor -> purple. If you unlock it all, you can buy a special white colored one in Blight Bay (similar to how the secret zombie mount unlock works). Price could be 3000 medallion each. Especially four and five for me, but I like all of these ideas. I'm one who doesn't really like the blighted zones and I REALLY need some incentives to play there.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to necro this, but added to it, changed it a bit, as some of it has been added to the game already

Many of these are cool ideas, but for me, the most essential one is number 6. I don't feel that it was ever a good idea to have your reputation reset after rebirth! If it wasn't time to get rid of this mechanic earlier, it certainly is now!!!

You work so hard to raise your reputation, and then you lose it all if you rebirth??? How does that match any content anywhere else in the game? It simply goes against all of the long-standing rules regarding what you keep (and what you don't keep) when you rebirth.

How is Blighted reputation different from any other skill? Yes, it's different from dungeoneering skill, and it's OK for that to reset at the end of a season -- a finite, distinct period of time. But reputation is something entirely different because with raids, you have a season with a predetermined period of time. There is nothing like that with the rebirthing system, where you can choose to rebirth in any order you wish, NOT at exact levels, etc.

If players don't do their level 90 rebirth at exactly 90 or 91, they are unlikely to ever do it! And the tipping point in this decision boils down to reputation resetting, in my view.

Maybe even if you finish all that(rep and every blighted quest, even zombie mount), there could be a final reward of a weapon skin for each subclass?

also I think a different color than “white” for the final gong pack would be best. Cinder is basically already white. I mean one of the zones is “Ash White” already. Maybe black with accents of all 4 blight colors?

I’d love #3. I’ve only been on blight a short bit but it’s already a bit boring. I can imagine ppl who’s been there for yrs are quite over it. Would give a new expansion without having to create a whole new zone.

rest of the list sounds nice too, except blight buffs, I don’t think they should be everywhere, scaled content is already skewed enough. I do agree with making them enchants though, I’d like my rune slots for raids

I love how you have thought of way to help with the blighted isle. For me, I agree reducing the grind something that need to be thought of. Double meds AND more importantly for me is upping the drop rate of items needed for quests. I still have not finish the book on my level 95 toon and nothing I do helps with the drop rate. I have tried taking a second and third toon through those zones and just can not do it. To boring (make most of the mobs venerable) does not make the zone more fun, just more boring. making drop rates horrific is nothing but frustrating. I would love to take all my toons through those zone for something to do since I am one that hates the new ladders and group content. Make the zones less headache inducing because of the colors, make the quests more fun by upping the drop rate, and stop making things so hard to see/find.

ERMAGERHD THIS!!!! Blood and shade are EXTREMELY a difficult to navigate during the day on mobile. The contrast and whatnot is not so great on tablets and phones, and due to them being “mobile” the environment is rarely as controlled as when playing PC. You either have to jack the brightness waaaaaayyyyy up in those zones (which looks ridiculous) or turn it down for normal zones. Some sort of adjustment needs to be made there.

You enjoy the blighted isles? 🤯 ...ok.
I got bored of them after like 6 months of the same repetitive stuff.same bounties,in the same places, same bad drops, same simplistic landscape...the same-ness got to me.After i completed all the main quests, and got the green drake reward, soon after i quit the game altogether(the isles were not the only reason, but pretty high up the list).
How about suggesting that all the zones in the game be dynamically scaled to the player's level? Event zones do it so the tech is there...That way we would have all 100+ zones be relevant and fun rather than be locked in the same 9 zones forever.

I know you DEV's are busy, but this is a great idea, that would help some endgame players maintain some interest in higher level content, and does not seem like it would be super hard to accomplish.

On my last 2 chars, I just did xp grind in Blight to 95, not even doing main quest past the frags...then rebirthed and did the quests after the last rebirth. I didn't even work rep on them. I think they are around 100+ rep for factions and I have no interest in grinding rep on them.

Same (except I did the first part of blood MQ too, to get some scraps down). But I might be more interested in farming rep if I can get me another outfit for it 😁

One of my guildmates think adding more mounts/toys/outfits would encourage better participation in Lv95 elders. Personally I don't care about that. But we all agreed that the blight isles look visually ugly. You can convey to your audience that the isles suffered catastrophic destruction without it looking like an unfinished pet project. The entire blight isles is just patch of land, some rocks, trees, and very occasionally some destroyed pillars.

I do like the look of the blight isles. I find a stillness to the zones. The color can overwhelm at times. I adjust the display setting to tone it down a bit and to make it easier to find items for the quests.

There are some good ideas here. It's certainly a lot of work for the devs, so if this does appear then it will be some time before we see it. I have a few suggestions to make it more realistic and acceptable to the devs, given the way the game deliberately makes content challenging and time consuming (as all games do! It wouldn't do for everyone to get to lvl 95 in 2 weeks).

1) Having put many characters through blight, I'm not sure there is any benefit in exchanging medallions once you have maximum reputation. Unless you do the bare minimum bounties and only quests, you should already have a significant number of each medallions.

2) Unless I have a colour glitch, Quietus is grey/black and Cinder is white. Perhaps the final one should be a unique rainbow cloak.

3) This would be an enormous amount of work for the devs. Whilst the idea is good I'm not sure it's practical.

4) I presume this refers to recipe drops from the level 95 elders. I think this would be a great idea but add the proviso that they only appear account bound if you have maximum reputation for the blight that the recipe comes from. Otherwise, they appear soulbound. I don't think it's right that a level 40 alt (with crafting specialisation) should be able to get and use level 95 elder dropped recipes.

5) Fully agree. I don't think there is any significant imbalance by doing this. It would likely cause more players to have one of each item type for each of the blight rune benefits (oh, the storage space! ;)).

6) I had one level 95 go to maximum reputation and then rebirth. It is a pain and the worse thing is that I hadn't realised I should buy all the protection gear before rebirth and save it until I got to 90 again since all my protection had been gnogmented to level 95 gear before rebirth! Perhaps the protections themselves should be an enchantment that you buy once. However, despite the initial disappointment in having to gain reputation again it was actually enjoyable running through the quests again.

7) I disagree with this. The game is pretty well balanced between the blight quest line and advancement through blight. The only area that does appear imbalanced is the initial main quests which start in the inner zones and then you have to wait a long time while you gather enough medallions to buy access to the outer zones to continue these quests. Once you get to the outer zones the medallions have much less importance as there's not much to buy with them unless you like to collect recipes or try your luck with some random gear.

One additional thing to add. I think Scale of Clorian should be account bound and not soulbound. It's such a waste if one drops for a character that already has enough reputation to get anything they want.

Added/changed the original post a bit, based on your feedback (some really cool ideas you shared!). I see many seem to have problems with the aesthetics/coloring of blight. I do wonder if there's a way to change it so it is less of a pain while still retaining it's feeling/looks.
