Ardent Society Chests 1 year

I saved my AS chests for one year and opened them the other day. These are the items I received. I thought it was awesome I got 7 mounts, just sad could only use 1 (all the others I had already). Anyone else done this? What did you get!

We have asked for ardent society loot to be account bound, but nothing has materialized. This reason alone frustrates a lot of people on duplicate mounts that we would love to have account bound, so we can give to our alts.

1 year is impressive but i save mine for when a cap raise is coming. That way if I get any of the garden stuff then i won't be wasting it on a maxed toon.

Is that UI on PC?

I cant seem to save more than 8-10 even on alts where the chests arent staring at me glaringly every time I open my bags.
Maybe I should start putting them in mah vault!

some gifts you hardly use in those AS chests, and yes the duplicate mount 'pets.
other then making those account bound, would be a option to sell them for some existing tokens?

As you mention, the longer you belong to AS, the less desirable it is as you see more duplicates of the prize toys and mounts. This makes me less likely to belong for long. If they had an Ardent Society buy back / exchange / currency for those... or if they changed up what those big prizes were so you only get 1 copy of each of the "can only use 1" items like mount, toy, wardrobe ... that would make me want to keep the subscription longer.

yes. they lock. so you can see the items inside but no longer access them, not even to take them out

I have once or twice after my paid month had ran out, and they became no longer accessible, even if you have items in it. Those become inaccessible until you've paid another month to AS Membership.

@Ozul @Pieberry I think what you are describing has been suggested as early as they changed AS into this daily lootbox. Why wasn't any of the suggested changes been implemented is beyond me (maybe very low priority, even if it could be changed super quick, unless it's spaghetti code). I'd prefer to see it changed too, I feel like AS would be a better deal, and I'd be more inclined to leave it up longer just to collect some of the missing items. I'm not sure if it will be ever changed but if it does, here are the alternativates that I think would be beneficial:

1) No duplicates on one time use only drops (mounts, toys). Fairly simple, you can no longer get a duplicate mount. If you roll the mount/toy drop table you will always get something new, until you no longer can. Then you'll just get the basic consumables like Motes of Yorick. I think this is the most elegant and fair solution, while staying true to its lootbox roots.

2) Make drops account bound. This means even if you get something you can't use anymore, maybe an alt of yours can. While I think this system would be better than what we have it has its own issues. Namely:
- people who play a single character won't experience any change
- you can still end up with duplicates, albeit with less of a chance
Still people with multiple alts would prolly enjoy this solution as if you make other items account bound too, it would offer a lot of extra items daily from alts for your main.

3) Add a token/reroll system. The premise would be simple. You get something you don't want (wether you just don't like it or being a duplicate) you can exchange it for a token. The token should either allow you to purchase some drops directly (either with a 1:1 ratio or a bit worse like 1:3, so 3 duplicates equal a new item of its kind), or it should allow you to reroll your chest to get something else. This seems like a bit harder to implent. Still if it's not just a chest reroll, but actual item exchange it would give some control to people to get what they want from the chests, be it a new mount or a big salvage kit.

I would definitely like the idea of exchanging AS items for some kind of AS item tokens. I really want a full set of AS mounts on my main, and I'm slowly going nuts trying to complete my Fireworks sets

I do get multiple mounts and pets, especially the bees and skitters. I wonder if AM currency could be given instead of random gifts. The AM NPC could have a "buy" button so players could pick which items they wanted.
