As a healer, I need to stay within reasonable range of the tanks for each of the bosses. Unfortunately, this puts me within the reach of the "nearby player" attacks, especially for those bosses that you have to move around. Can you please review the range of these attacks which seems too large. It has cost me 13 Voltan's so far and despite having completed the Rift 3 times I have very little to show for it. Is there really no decent loot for all the cost and effort except a rare (and fairly useless) toy? The xp is also very poor.

I was given the impression that due to scaling this would be alternative advancement for those levelling up from 75 but it doesn't appears to be.

I believe it is intended as an additional source of xp for levelling, not an alternative.

Alternative was HoS with 5% per run, after that was gone, ppl went Rift. Now that is gone and nothing left but to rekill all until you reach end. Its ok to kill map 3 to 5 times. I mean I passed Pyrron zone with 1, 2 kill. Then was struggle with 5x Basido to get to Coille, so was 22 x killed Copse to open Rye. Somewhere around Turnapine I started to do Landen Patrols (near 20+ daily) until his reward xp became absurd, and of course lets check for Zings in Tomb several times per day. So old HoS and Rift were great to do to avoid all above. I honestly had big expectations with new Rift xp.

Generally this type of mechanic is meant to force players to spread out, which is counter to a group's natural inclination to stick close to each other. However if there are any abilities where this is too egregious then they can be looked at. Any specific examples or bosses would be helpful to pinpoint these cases.

In a future patch the Rift bosses will drop scaled Elder boss quality loot for players. As for the experience output, hopefully once the weekly quest has been fixed (also in included in an upcoming patch), this will provide a sufficient boost to the current offering. Players can also build up an experience boost through Elda's quest chain, which can grant them a 50% EXP bonus for bosses in the Rift.

The Rift is designed to be a supplement to existing content in the 75 - 90 range rather than a replacement. It is not intended to act as the sole means of progression, but rather as an extra area to venture into when other options have been exhausted.

Firstly, thank you very much for maintaining mounted speed in the zone. The jumping limitation is fine, except players keep getting stuck on the rubble in front of the portal. That needs to be smoothed out.

Some observations:

The xp is indeed quite limited and not worth the time and effort compared to running standard zones. The above mentioned weekly quest better be a whopper if it is intended to overcome this.

Understood, however this falls far short of the true help we need in the 75-90 range. I had hoped this would significantly reduce the grind that frustrates so many players into leaving the game in this range. However, it only adds an overly difficult mechanic with a miniscule impact on progression.

Even with scaling, the fights are far too difficult even for 95's. I understand you don't want a 95 to be able to easily run lower levels thru here, but if this is meant to be content for 75-90 it is not likely to be helpful as it will require players in that range to need massive amounts of help each time to run it. That is in no way convenient for the leveling process, which takes weeks to grind thru currently.

Conclusions:
Overall, I had high hopes when this was announced, but I have to say this effort to reduce grind has missed the mark. We need MAJOR reductions to the required xp of levels 75-90, not incremental additions such as the zone dailies and this new Rift. The rest of the game is fun and fast paced, then you hit a wall and hate your life every day for weeks as you log in for the daily repetitive grind of the same few zones. These areas are no longer endgame content and require drastic reductions in order to allow players to advance at a rate similar to prior content.

Please either make the new Rift a powerhouse of xp rewarding those who are able to rally the powerful friends required with literal weeks of grind shaved off, or simply adjust the xp table to bring these levels in line so that players can move thru these areas with the same speed and fun as the rest of the game.

Respectfully submitted,

Actually, my healer is a lvl 95 who has regularly done the Elder 95 run and has pretty good stats to stand up against those without dying. Even one of our best tanks (Antavious, who I affectionately nickname Captain Scarlet as he's indestructible) who can solo the Elder 95s has died to these rift bosses. So on the surface they are more difficult than a lvl 95 Elder. Given that many of those joining the rift ladder do not have end game gear it explains why so many are dying. We never have this many deaths at an Elder 95 run.

I can tank the empowered ladder on my 95 shaman without major issues but died three times tanking a rift run last night, with a group of the caliber that I usually run emp with. I really like the general direction of the rift revamp, but if it’s harder than emp ladder it won’t be of much use for lvl 75- 90 players.

To be fair, I definitely don’t understand the new rift boss mechanics entirely yet, and will keep helping in runs to learn them better. But I still think that multiple stacked 95ers will be needed for each rift run in the current state of things, even with better mechanical knowledge among the whole group.

Im a 95 Holy priest and play as primarily dps and secondary heals. I have no real issues with the difficulty of the bosses and I have completed the run several times and only died a couple times figuring it out. Now I do have a problem with the lag thats happening especially since the EZ is around but thats a whole different subject that needs to be discussed in another thread. I did get a toy on my first run through it was a cheesy steam bath that last like 2 seconds then its over lol. As far as rewards go Im hoping the drops or rewards get much better becsuse as of right now its a waste of time to run due to very low xp and extreme difficulty with no real rewards or stuff to purchase with the mana efflux in the vendor there. The bottomless half heal is kind of nice and I look forward to getting it. But thats it after you get that what is there to work for. im trying not to be to much of a critic until I see how the adjustments go and elder lvl drops they mentioned.

The lag may be specific to your server. On EU1 we don't have much lag during rift and certainly not as much as we do in the event zone.
I'm interested to know how you got around healing with Nashanni. His bombs are invisible with no warning of them coming. The only way to avoid them seems to be to stay a decent distance behind him but then you can't get close enough to heal the tanks without becoming a bomb target. Strangely, the death window says the damage I took is less than 20% of my health but I went from full health to dead so I'm wondering if it's a bug or you get multiple instant damage from the bombs and only the last one shows in the death window.

hmm good question all I do in that fight is continuously move. I don't stand still for for a second. The couple deaths I have had was at his hands though un till I started moving constantly. I literally don't stop moving at all i usually stay on one side of room toward rear of the group and work back and forth across the room. Hope this helps you bit.
