We have been through quite a bit this year so I’m taking the time to reflect a bit on what happened this year and attempt to see the game’s success and failures with a modicum of fair perspective. Here goes.

so going into 2022 we lost raid season 3 in October and where just recovering/slowing down with the only thing happening was the grinchta EZ which was getting heavily criticised for its new additions of the Christmas bash/plum kiss hideout. It’s my strong opinion that this content is a great step in the right direction but needs some serious refinement. Still a highlight was the addition of a rare drop reward which I for one was super happy to get the chance to earn and help others earn. I consider the the EZ in general a success despite its problems.

jan 17: grichta was removed this was kinda a blow to me as I was using the content heavily to compensate for a lack of raids and end game but I stayed positive as it couldn’t be long (so far raid seasons had been about 2-2.5 months between seasons)

feb 14: sugar sweet summit a welcome relief as I was still hard up without raids and with so much new stuff this year. bonnie and Clyde, a ladder, hidden boxes. The only thing I was hoping for was another rare drop box somewhere as this was a great addition to halloween and Christmas, at first it seamed it wouldn’t come but then the fix it patch brought a platinum mustang so that was great. Wile we had some issues with the hidden boxes they where nice and I hope we see them again. Bonnie and clyde weren’t particularly impactful but I get why as it ment to be the easy addition. The ladder was a bit off ish the devs seamed to add defensive mechanics to most of these bosses not realising that all they did was slow down fights not make them more interesting but less. The thing with def mechanics is they can’t be on top of the regular things that slow down the fight like high hp and stuns or it’s just silly. instead they need to replace these things and ultimately protect a squishy boss in a different more interesting way. I think the devs are still learning this but are getting there. In general the EZ was a success but again in serious need of refinement.

March 28: exit sugar sweet enter raid season 4 with only a low amount of interest in sugar sweet I was super hard up for content and was very excited to finally end the longest down time between raids ever at 5 months. In the end the new raid “the catacombs“ offered an array of interesting features. Bosses with mechanics, interesting mini mechanics from mobs, tamer puzzles from Orla, movement mechanics, randomly selected paths and even a race type scenario at the end. It was like the devs where trying to throw everything they got at us and I loved it. I didn’t think the wait would be worth it as it was so long but in retrospect I think it was just kinda wish it wasn’t in the EZ dry period (first 6 months of the year all we really see is a bit of grichta, sugar sweet and a bit of vale in the second half we get most of vale, oasis, moors, most of grichta so we have more content by far) the raid was a great addition to the growing stable of raids and one of the best things to be added to the game this year.

June 20: twilight vale and rift at the same time we got the twilight vale and the re vamp to the arcane rift of pyrrus this was a bit impact on the game with my personal interests being split as I still had raids but now an E.Z and a bran new piece of super content. rift was definitely my priority and I found my self doing it any time I could (twice a day at the start) wile the EZ was relatively unchanged about a week in some very interesting mounts and outfits where added and I was now torn and working super hard at both. Rift was highly discussed at this point and tweaks were constant but I do believe now the dust of this super busy time of the year has settled it was a great success as for twilight vale it was a solid addition to the content at the time.

August 1: twilight removal with raids and rifts keeping me busy and the fact I just managed to get the rewards I wanted from the vale (it was seriously to the wire for me. First time ever) i was glad to see people get back to raids and did my best to be a part of helping others finish there seasons this time helped me get my full set of celestials and top a leader board or 2 so this was my most successful raid season ever.

August 30: oasis this was a good EZ to go into after the raid season And with the addition of some rare drop boxes in the ladder and hidden boxes to find I was happy to see this EZ (personally I consider it to have the best/most well balanced ladder of all the EZ’s) there where some issues. no new mount was a bit odd (first time I’ve ever seen this in an EZ) and at the same time high lvl players stoped running a 95 elder run :( at the time I was hosting a daily rift run to continue to test/benefit from the content and several players approached me to try to get me to get the elder run back up. I wasn’t sure if I could manage both but felt like players needed something so I came up with the plan to alternate the runs one day elders the next rift. This was received well by the server and still goes on today (though seeing what killed the elder run in the first place I decided not to run on any major launch days and announce a lot to keep players in the loop) despite issues oasis is solid and it was still fun this year.

October 10: oasis end, halloween enter I was kinda dreading halloween as I consider it the weakest of all the EZ’s. Don’t get me wrong it’s still fun especially for new players but it has the least entertaining content for the toughest players. the one thing I was excited to see was if there was a new mount/item in the rare drop box added last year as the hype from a new hard to get item was extremely good. But when it launched there was no new item in the box and they snuck in a piece of new content. I was thrilled at the start, horde was one great fight at first I even struggled a bit but knew I wasn’t tapping into my full potential so was very happy. Then a nerf came and it was fierce it hit the content so hard it was now as easy as the bosses the horde replaced Keeping the EZ’s title of “weakest EZ” to add to it the EZ had several bugs (more than I’ve ever seen in an EZ before) and the devs introduced some devastating game wide bugs that have cast a shadow over the rest of the year. I feel like this EZ didn’t get the attention it sorely needed due to this issues and it ended up a bit of a rare dud this year but I have faith the devs will fix the bugs and go back to improving the new content next year.

December 5: goodbye halloween, hello raid season 5 not that long ago now and still in progress raid season 5 is the first season to ever not have a new raid and it still took 3 months to develop my guess it wasn’t the raids that took this long but instead the bug issues introduced in October as a result we got a kinda vanilla raid season, still due to the fact that a lot of players where waiting on this content it has generally been received rather well. A good indication that raids will provide a welcome piece of content when they rotate round even without new raids every time. I also have seen an increase in the popularity of big group raids on my server which is nice to see as I’m a big fan/advocate of everyone playing together and getting along. In general despite my trepidation over no new raid the season has definitely been a good thing for the players.

December 14: grichta with no new changes to the content I can only hope the devs have been super busy fixing bugs and working on better things as last years issues are still not dealt with and look like won’t be this year either. A shame as the hype of the rare drop toy has worn off and now we are looking at the same complaints re-emerging. Still at least the players have each other and can pull together to make the most of the unceasingly irritating bash.

in summation the start of the year was slow but in the end when we got to the middle catacombs and rift (definitely the highlights) where well worth it but things went a bit squiffy in the last few months with bugs seriously hampering content development. I do hope we see less of this next year.

I realise that I called this “a quick review“ then wrote an essay lol so here’s a quickie summary+ a rating out of 5(1 being unplayable and 5 being perfect).

sugar sweet: step in the right direction but needs work 2/5
raid season 4: worth the wait, best raid ever 4/5
twilight vale: no new content but solid as ever 3/5
arcane rift of pyrrus: a wonderful addition to the game 4/5
Oasis: best EZ for balanced play shame no mount this year 3/5
Haunted moors: lots of issues worst EZ for balanced play needs work 2/5
Raid season 5: nothing new but surprisingly solid 3/5
Grinchta: lots of unresolved issues from last years new content 2/5

i thought it was a nicely written essay, but it’s been some years since i was a writer so i might be a bit out of practice.

Thanks! Reviews like this from actual players are great. (Much more useful than from random professional game reviewer who spends 1 hour reviewing the game. )

Thanks for taking the time to review :)

Thanks for the review. I know my parents won't allow me to play games with my friends. Because I have a lot of pending assignments to do. But they don't know that I found https://www.topessaywriting.org/samples/responsibility website where I can read a lot of essay samples for free and it will save a lot of my money for hiring an essay writer. After completing my assignments, I will surely play games with my friends. I have a lot of pending games to complete this year.
Thanks for the review.
